Looks like someone is allergic to amoxicillin.
That would have been good to know before we used it to treat her ear infection.
And yes, it is head to toe. Poor baby.
Ellie is really curious as to how her sister became "polka dotted."
Even the spots won't keep her down, though. Wren is a girl on the move.
Six independent steps and counting...
I think we've got ourselves a walker!
For my next post - another bit on medication, but no hives in that story.
So Sad. My son had the exact same reaction to the non-amoxicillin antibiotic. Even though it is sad to see, it is good to know. Now you can inform them whenever they ask for allergies. Hope the spots clear up soon. But she sure it cute!
ReplyDeleteOh no! How sad!! Poor little Wren. Are they itchy or painful, or do the hives just appear?
ReplyDeleteSupposedly they are itchy, but she didn't seem too bothered by them. Honestly, we're lucky it was Wren. Ellie would have insisted on a band-aid for every one.
ReplyDeleteBennett had a bad reaction to penicillin once. Not as bad as Wren, though! I honestly think it was from some Thai food we ate, but they said that they are required to assume it was from penicillin since he was taking it at the time for a sinus infection. They told me they'd try it again at some point because there was a question as to whether it really was the penicillin or not. But he hasn't needed antibiotics since, so we still don't know!
ReplyDeletePoor poor Wren. She looks miserable (well the rash does... she looks pretty pleasant!)
Baby Wren! Noooooooo!
ReplyDeleteLucy is also allergic to Amoxicillin, and we were freaking out. I'm sure you kept your cool, as well as level-headed Joseph. Well, one of those things I believe to be true. :p
Been there with Nathan too- which stinks because amoxicillan is so dang cheap.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Wren! That's a ton of "polka-dots"! Glad she hasn't seemed bothered by them.
ReplyDeleteAnd hooray for walking! Even despite the constant chasing, I feel like it's so much easier now that Manu walks.
Oh yikes! I am allergic to amoxicillan too. Red polka dots have never looked so cute as they do on her though. Hope they clear up soon!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry You guys and Wren had to have this experience. It's so sad to see her so "polka-dotted". Love you guys.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That sucks. Glad she handled it so well! Good thing you didn't have any family pictures scheduled (that's all I think about right now).
ReplyDeletePoor kiddo! Hope she's on the mend! Miss you guys.
