Don't worry - there's a whole post lined up about that.
I wanted to let you know all know that we are busy settling in and we're all happy and excited for our new adventure. The walls in our apartment have a new coat of paint, and I even planted my own little balcony garden. Really, life is full of the most remarkable beauties. I feel blessed to see them each day.
Wren has been soaking up the time with her great-grandma.
I've been wearing the friendship bracelet Holly sent me,
to remind myself that good friends can be found anywhere.
Look at my little beans! I am so proud of them.
And now a quick question for my photographer friends out there: The last two posts have featured photos from my new camera (hooray for upgrading!) and the file sizes are so big that when I size them down for the blog they seem hyper-sharpened. They look digi-sharpened. I like a bit of a softer look - or at least I'd like to still have a reason to use unsharp mask now and then. Do you guys notice this? Have you had any similar experiences? What is your advice?
I'll be back soon to check in. Meanwhile - come visit me! I promise you'll love it here.
Hooray for Ithaca! I'm happy y'all are settling in and enjoying your new home. Can't wait to hear more about it.
ReplyDeleteLove.
ReplyDeleteOh Whitney, a stab of jealousy just ran through my heart. Ithaca, Ithaca, my home. I love Ithaca. Such a beautiful place, full of beautiful people and so many different things to experience. Make sure you go to Treman State Park, the swimming hole there is wonderful. And the hills by the vet and Ag school are the best for sledding in the winter. Look for ice fishers in January and take a tour of the salt mines. There's a great little Thai restaurant (many of them, in fact) but they make the BEST mango and coconut milk rice. Please give my love to the Millers and the Barlows, and everyone else in the ward who has been there forever. Can I come visit you, please? Oh my, you are going to love Ithaca. Oh, and if it's still open go to the Iron Kettle (on the way to the stake center in Owego) farm for a Halloween trip-- complete with pumpkins, donuts, hot cocoa, a petting zoo and corn maze.
ReplyDeleteI could go on. Congratulations to Joe on such a remarkable achievement! And enjoy your time there.
I was so happy to see you all happily enjoying your new home! I love that first pic of Ellie and Joe unintentionally modeling on the banks of a river. And your garden looks great! I hope you don't have bunnies that eat all your beautiful beans like they did mine.
ReplyDeleteI swear you have the most adorable family! From the sound of it Ithica is my dream location...super jealous!
